Where to go out in Vienna?

We all know the drill: It’s Friday night and you’re in the mood for a good party. But you’re not sure where to go. Don’t despair, we’re here to help. Here are our five top tips for where to go out in Vienna. We’re sure you’ll love all of them and will have a fun night out, no matter which one you will choose.

The classic: Volksgarten

Probably one of the most famous clubs in Vienna is Volksgarten. This is your go-to option if you’re already older (you have to be 21 to get in) and if you are looking for a nicer and slightly fancier club night. In terms of music you’ll find anything from Pop to House or Disco music.

It’s located literally in the middle of Vienna (Volksgarten, between parliament and Hofburg) so it’s easy to get to and probably meets everyone’s taste. Sometimes they can have quite long queues though and it’s definitely more on the pricy side.

Fun nights at Praterdome

Our favorite: Praterdome

Praterdome is a really cool club, right in the middle of the famous Viennese Prater. It has loads of different floors, playing anything from Pop, to Hip-Hop and even Austrian Schlager if you’re into that. They are open for anyone who’s 18 or older and it’s definitely a club worth checking out if you haven’t been there.

The reason it’s our favorite club is because it’s pretty clean, not too dodgy, has a nice mix of music, and indoor smoking area (which is also nice if you just want a break from dancing) and easy to get to. And it’s definitely a safe bet to go to, no matter who you are going out with.

Gnadenlos: Perfect for 16+

Gnadenlos is not actually a club, but rather a bar which means the entry is free (who doesn’t love that?). However, the whole downstairs area is a massive dance floor which means it pretty much feels like a club nonetheless. You can find great party hits here, some good old classical and a few modern songs. The average age tends to be a bit higher than in our other tips, but hey, it’s free. And, one of the biggest benefits, you can get in even if you’re only 16 years old.

So if you’re going out with a group of younger friends or you just want to save a bit of money, this is definitely your go to option.

Queer Party at Why Not

Queer Party: Why Not

If you haven’t been to Why Not then you’ve definitely not fully experienced the Viennese party scene. It’s the most famous gay club in Vienna and as everyone knows: Queer people definitely know how to party XD. Three floors packed with good vibes and great music. If you’re looking for a fun night out, this is your place to go.

Hip-hop at Inc

Inc. is a cool club right at Schwarzenbergplatz. They’re focused on hip hop music, so you need to enjoy that in order to enjoy a night at Inc. But if you do, then this is your place to go. It’s not too big and only has one dance floor, but the vibes definitely make up for the lack of space.

It’s not the cheapest club, but that’s pretty much the case with most clubs in Vienna. And it’s super central, has good music and a fun vibe.
