Usually served with ground meat it can be fairly unhealthy and greasy, especially when served with fries. With this recipe we try to adapt this iconic dish with a few modern and delicious twists. This burger recipe is vegan friendly and adds a few usually uncommon ingredients to make this on of our favorite burgers. English mustard<\/li><li>3-4 Tbsp. fine oats<\/li><\/ul><p>Tomato Jam:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>2kg tomatoes<\/li><li>400g brown sugar<\/li><li>2 tsp. ground coriander<\/li><li>2 tsp. ground cumin<\/li><li>1 lemon, juiced<\/li><\/ul><p>Toppings\/Buns:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 pack of fresh arugula<\/li><li>4 gherkins<\/li><li>4 vegan burger buns<\/li><li>Oil<\/li><li>Salt and pepper<\/li><li>Optional: 4 slices of vegan cheese<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Preparation:<\/strong><\/p><p>Patties:<\/p><p>First rinse the black beans with fresh water then smash the beans with a fork. Finely chop the garlic and the onion and add them to the bean mixture. Lastly add the tomato paste, soy sauce, mustard and oats. If your dough seems to sticky, you can add flower to bind it. Now form 4 evenly sized patties. Fry them over medium heat in vegetable oil until golden brown and crispy. If you want to add cheese, add it on top after the first flip so it has enough time to melt.<\/p><p>Tomato Jam:<\/p><p>Dice the tomatoes into cubes and squeeze the juice of a fresh lemon. Add all ingredients to a saucepan and cook over medium high heat for about 10 minutes, afterwards reduce to medium heat and let it simmer for an additional 20-30 minutes. In the end it should have a sticky consistency.
