This is the place to be if you have time before, between or after lectures or just want to enjoy a delicious homemade meal in Alsergrund. We promise you, this is the ideal place to chill or get some Uni stuff done. So why do we love this place so much? Well, let us tell you exactly why the Weltcafé takes a special place on our lists of places to be!
Atmosphere. This is what makes us stay, even if the food and drinks made us come here in the first place. When sitting inside the Weltcafé you get a cozy vibe from the interior and lounge music and it almost feels like being in your living room. The couch-like seating areas are so comfortable that you don’t get back pain from sitting there for a good amount of time when studying. Also, there are tables for you and your friends but also some places where you can enjoy a coffee with some (really absolutely incredibly mouthwatering) vegan apple pie on your own. Let me tell you, you don’t have to be vegan to love this fluffy piece of pie!! But you can also spend your time outside in the sun. Of course, there is no great atmosphere without the right team behind it. Being a customer, you are really treated friendly, politely and always with a smile. You can tell that the Weltcafé-team enjoys what they are doing and that’s what makes the stay even more lovely!
Now let’s get down to business and talk about Weltcafé’s food and drinks. Here you can get everything you could desire, sweet, savory or (of course) a good cup of coffee. Also, (almost) all the food and drinks that are served are organic and mostly homemade, even the syrup of their incredible lemonade. But that’s not all! The Weltcafé offers loads of vegetarian and vegan dishes that are absolutely amazing. You can never get tired of their menu, since they switch it up from time to time – so there is always something new to try and a new highlight to discover! A bonus they offer: They also have a catering service that allows you to serve their homemade dishes at parties or other kinds of events.
Speaking of events, the Weltcafé doesn’t just offer a chill atmosphere they also host events from time to time showcasing local musicians. The alternative music you get to enjoy here makes for a perfect evening out with friends. They don’t only support musicians but also display art works by locals fitting their style. So, this is your chance to engage with local Viennese art and simply be inspired by all the young talent on display.
